How to manage Meta Ads from Claude

Claude cannot reach your Meta ad account on its own.

Meta Ads is live and included in every plan, covering campaigns, ad sets, carousel, video, link and page-post ads, custom and lookalike audiences, interest research, reach estimates and insights. The one exception is lead form creation, which needs a permission we did not request; attaching an existing lead form to an ad works normally.

Opus 5 High

It needs a connector, and most of the ones people try are read-only, self-hosted, or both. Opus Growth is a hosted connector: you paste one URL into Claude, authorize the ad accounts you want managed, and from then on Claude can build campaigns, size audiences and pause the losers by conversation. Every write is previewed before it applies. This page covers what actually works, what does not, and how to set it up.

What you can do

Claude writes, not just reads

Most Meta connectors return numbers and stop there. This one acts: create a campaign, add an ad set with the targeting you described, build the creative, shift a budget, pause everything below a CPA threshold. Reading a report and doing something about it happen in the same conversation instead of the report becoming a task for later.

Every write is previewed before it lands

Claude never silently spends your money. A write is simulated first and shown back to you: which campaign, which field, old value and new value. Nothing reaches Meta until you approve it. A single change can never raise a budget by more than 50 percent, and each applied change is written to an audit log you can read back.

Audience work belongs in a conversation

Describing an audience out loud is faster than clicking through the builder. Ask for a 1% lookalike of purchasers from the last 180 days across three markets, or a website custom audience from your pixel, and review the definition before it is created. Interest research and reach estimates run in the same thread, so sizing happens while you plan rather than after you commit.

Creative without leaving the chat

Build carousel ads, video ads, single-image link ads and boosted page posts from existing Page posts or uploaded assets. Copy a winning ad into a new ad set without rebuilding it field by field, which is the part of Ads Manager that wastes the most time.

Meta is not the only account Claude reaches

The same connection covers Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads and LinkedIn Ads, plus Search Console, GA4, YouTube and Tag Manager. That matters because the honest version of "which channel is working" needs more than one channel in the room. You can compare Meta against Search in one question instead of exporting both.

Nothing to install or maintain

The connector is hosted, so there is no package to install, no Meta developer app to register, no tokens to rotate and no machine that has to stay awake. The same URL works in Claude on the web and in the desktop app, and in ChatGPT and Cursor if you use those too.

Set it up in 60 seconds

  1. 1

    Add the connector to Claude

Open Claude on claude.ai or the desktop app, go to Settings and then Connectors, choose to add a custom connector, and paste https://mcp.opus-growth.com/mcp. There is nothing to download and no configuration file to edit. This takes about a minute.

  2. 2

    Authorize your Meta ad accounts

Start a chat and ask Claude to connect Meta. An authorization window opens where you sign in and pick exactly which ad accounts, Pages and pixels the assistant may touch. Accounts you do not select stay invisible to it.

  3. 3

Ask for an inventory before you trust it

Make your first message a question, not a change: ask Claude to list every Meta ad account it can currently see with spend over the last 14 days. If something you expected is missing it was not authorized, and you will find that out before it matters.

  4. 4

Make your first write a small one

Pick something low risk, such as pausing one clearly dead ad set, so you can watch the preview and approval step work end to end. Once the flow is familiar, larger changes stop feeling risky because the gate is always the same.

Ask in plain English

List every Meta ad account you can reach, with spend, purchases and CPA for the last 14 days.

Pause every ad set with more than $200 spend and zero purchases in the last 7 days, and show me the list before you do it.

Create a 1% lookalike audience of website purchasers from the last 180 days for the US, UK and Canada.

Build a carousel ad in the Spring Sale ad set using our four best-selling product images and write the primary text.

Which interests should I test for a premium home-fitness audience in Germany, and what reach would that targeting get?

Compare cost per purchase on Meta against cost per conversion on Google Ads for last month, and tell me where the next $1,000 should go.

Frequently asked questions

Not by itself. Claude has no access to your Facebook or Instagram ad account until you add a connector that exposes those tools to it. Opus Growth is a hosted connector: you paste one URL into Claude's connector settings, authorize your ad accounts, and Claude can then read reports and make changes, with every change previewed before it applies.

Campaigns, ad sets and ads: creating them, updating objectives, schedules, statuses and budgets, and deleting them. Creative work covers carousel, video, single-image link and page-post ads. Audience work covers website custom audiences and lookalikes, plus interest search and reach estimates. Reporting covers campaign insights across date ranges and breakdowns.

Creating new lead forms is closed, because that needs a Meta permission we chose not to request. Attaching an existing lead form to an ad works normally. Beyond that, the connector can only call tools it actually exposes, so there is no path to an account or an action you did not authorize.

You do not have to configure anything, because the gate is on by default. Writes are simulated and shown to you before they run, nothing applies without explicit approval, a single change cannot raise a budget by more than 50 percent, and every applied change lands in an audit log. Read-only questions run immediately, since they cannot change anything.

Custom connectors work on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, through claude.ai and the Claude desktop app. Because the connector is hosted and remote, the same URL also works in ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code, and your authorizations follow you between them.

No. There is no developer app to register, no access token to generate and no self-hosting. Authorization runs through a standard consent screen and the connector handles token refresh for you.

Yes, and agencies are the common case. Every call carries an explicit ad-account context, each customer's credentials and data stay isolated from every other customer's, and the actions taken are written to an audit log. One connection can cover a full client roster without the accounts seeing each other.

There is a free trial with 75 credits that never expire and no card required. After that, Pro is $49/month for one ad account and Agency is $99/month for multiple client accounts, both in USD. Meta is included at no extra cost: one plan covers every live platform, with no per-network fee.
