Competitor ad and SERP landscape before entering a new city
Maps local competitors' ads, paid keywords and the live results page in a new city, then turns the gaps into positioning angles, RSA headlines and auctions to avoid at launch.
When to use it
When you are about to start advertising in a new city and want to know what local competitors run before writing a single ad.
What you get
A competitor table of offers, claims and top paid keywords, plus 5 untapped positioning angles, 10 headline ideas and a list of expensive auctions to avoid at launch.
Does it change anything in my account?
No. The assistant only reads your data and reports back.
We are entering [city] for [service]. The main local competitors are [2-3 competitor domains]. Our 3 core queries are [3 core queries]. Map the landscape before we write a single ad.
First check seo_history and reuse anything recent for these domains and queries, so we do not spend SEO add-on credits twice. Tell me which steps will cost credits before running them.
1. Fetch each competitor's live ads from the Google Ads Transparency Center for [country]. Small local advertisers often have thin or no coverage there; if a result is empty, say so and rely on steps 2 and 3 for their copy.
2. Pull the keywords each competitor bids on in paid search, with search volume, CPC, estimated monthly spend, the ad headlines and descriptions, and the landing pages. An empty result means no ads in this scan, not that they never advertise.
3. Run a live SERP analysis for each core query with location [city]. Note how many ads appear and who runs them, whether the results show a local pack (if the returned data includes it), and what takes space above the organic results.
4. In Google Ads account [account name], find the geo target id for [city] and read the historical metrics for the competitors' main keywords and our core queries in [language]: monthly searches, competition and the top-of-page bid range. This is our auction cost estimate, since competitor-level auction insights are not available through the tools.
Deliver a table with one row per competitor and these columns:
- offer and price claims
- urgency claims (24/7, same day)
- trust signals (reviews, guarantees, licences)
- call to action
- top 10 paid keywords
- what is missing from their ads
Mark "no ad data" where a competitor showed no ads in any source.
Then give me:
- 5 positioning angles nobody in this market is using, each backed by a gap from the table
- 10 RSA headline ideas of 30 characters or less, built on those angles, with the character count next to each
- keywords where 3 or more competitors overlap, with the top-of-page bid range, flagged as expensive auctions we may want to avoid at launch, plus cheaper long-tail alternatives from Keyword Planner
Analysis only. No account changes.
