Demand Gen campaign using my best-retaining YouTube videos

Shortlists your strongest short YouTube videos by retention and builds a paused Demand Gen campaign around them. It adds country and language targeting, a 30-day remarketing audience and ready-to-run ad copy, and previews every step before anything is created.

When to use it

When you want to turn your best-performing short YouTube videos into a Google Demand Gen campaign with remarketing.

What you get

A ranked video shortlist, audience rule, targeting and ad copy previewed for approval, then a paused Demand Gen campaign built step by step with the created IDs listed.

Does it change anything in my account?

[product or service page URL][country][language][daily budget][business name][product or service page URL path]
I want a Demand Gen campaign that uses my own YouTube videos. It must be created paused. Inputs: - Landing page: [product or service page URL] - Country: [country] - Language: [language] - Daily budget: [daily budget] - Business name (max 25 characters): [business name] 1) Video shortlist. - List my YouTube channels. If there is more than one, ask me which to use. - Pull the channel overview for the last 90 days to get the channel's average view percentage as a benchmark. - Pull my top 25 videos for the same period. - Rank them by average view duration in seconds, not by views. Show each video's title, views, watch time and average view duration. - The report does not include video length or per-video view percentage. Take the top 6 by average view duration and ask me to paste each one's length, or the "average percentage viewed" from YouTube Studio. Then calculate view percentage as average view duration divided by length. - Shortlist 2-3 videos that are under 60 seconds and above 40% average view percentage. If none qualify, say so and stop. - For each shortlisted video, ask me for its YouTube link or video ID if you do not already have it. 2) Audience check. List my audiences with their definitions. Look for a remarketing list of visitors to [product or service page URL] with a 30-day membership. - If one exists, use it. - If not, propose one: name, URL rule (CONTAINS [product or service page URL path]), membership 30 days, lookback 30 days. 3) Campaign plan: - Campaign: Demand Gen, daily budget [daily budget], bid strategy Maximize Conversions unless I say otherwise. - One ad group, named after the product or service. - Ad group location: [country]. Ad group language: [language]. Demand Gen keeps location and language on the ad group. Without this step the campaign targets every country, so it must be applied before anything is enabled. - Remarketing audience on the ad group. A newly created list starts empty and fills over the following days. Recommend whether to attach it as Observation or Targeting given its current size, and explain why. 4) Ad copy. For each shortlisted video, write: - 3 headlines (max 40 characters each) - 1 long headline (max 90) - 2 descriptions (max 90) - A call to action Show character counts. The final URL for every ad is [product or service page URL] and the business name is [business name]. Preview everything first: the shortlist with metrics, the audience rule, the campaign and ad group settings, the targeting and all ad copy. Wait for my approval. Then create things in this order, showing a dry run (confirm=false) for each step and waiting for my OK before confirming: a) The remarketing audience, if a new one is needed. b) The Demand Gen campaign (paused). c) The ad group. First check whether the campaign already has one by listing its ad groups. If it does not, run the ad group creation as a dry run. If the tool refuses for a Demand Gen campaign, tell me to add one ad group in the Google Ads interface and paste its ID, then continue. d) Ad group location and language targeting. After applying it, read the ad group's targeting back and confirm only [country] and [language] are set. e) Attach the audience to the ad group in the agreed mode. f) One video ad per shortlisted video. Finish with a summary of the IDs created and confirm that the campaign is still paused.
