[site][date]
Organic traffic on [site] dropped after a site update around [date]. Find which pages broke and why. 1. In Search Console, compare page-level clicks, impressions and average position for the 28 days after that date with the 28 days before it. 2. Keep only pages that lost more than 30% of clicks and had at least 100 clicks in the earlier period. 3. Batch-inspect those URLs. For each one, return the index status, last crawl date, robots/indexing state and Google-chosen canonical. 4. On WordPress, find the matching posts and pages and their last modified dates. Read each page's meta title, meta description, canonical and focus keyword. List the active plugins and note any SEO or caching plugin. Classify each page into one of these causes: - NOINDEX or BLOCKED - CANONICAL MISMATCH, where Google's canonical differs from the declared one - TITLE/META CHANGED, where the page was modified after the date and its position fell - NOT RECRAWLED - RANKING LOSS ONLY, where the page is indexed and unchanged but its position dropped Output a table with these columns: URL, clicks before and after, position before and after, index status, canonical, modified date, cause. Sort it by clicks lost. Do not edit anything. List the proposed fixes per page, and I will approve them before you preview any change.
