[new service area][location name][site][account name][language]
We want to expand from our current area into [new service area]. Before choosing campaigns, see where demand already exists, starting with our own data and filling the gaps with Keyword Planner. 1. For Business Profile location [location name], read: - The services and categories listed. - The search terms people used to find us over the last 6 months, including the low-volume ones. Note that this data lags about 2 months and low-volume terms come back as "fewer than N". - Calls, direction requests and website clicks. The tool returns totals for a window, so read the last 30, 60, 90 and 180 days and derive the approximate month-by-month trend from the differences. 2. From Search Console property [site], pull the last 180 days by page and query together. Keep queries that mention a district, neighbourhood or city name, or a specific service. Position only exists for queries that already earn impressions; mark everything else "no organic data". 3. For combinations that involve [new service area] or show little or no impressions in our own data, get demand from Google Ads account [account name]: - Find the geo target ids for [new service area] and our current area. - Run Keyword Planner with service + area seeds in [language] for those geo ids to get average monthly searches and competition. - For the shortlisted combinations, read the monthly search history to separate seasonal from steady demand. Combine all sources into a ranked list of the top 10 service + area combinations. For each one show: - monthly searches (Keyword Planner) and impressions found in our own data, with the source labelled - current organic position and ranking page, if any - whether the service is already listed on the profile - recommended first move: paid search ad group, local landing page, or Business Profile post or service entry Rank by demand first. Break ties in favour of combinations where we have no organic page in the top 10. Separately, list any service people search for that is missing from our profile's service list. This is analysis only. Do not edit the profile or the Google Ads account.
