Add a WhatsApp message button to Google Search ads and measure it

Adds the message asset that starts a WhatsApp chat straight from search to the right campaigns. Writes the pre-filled message per service and checks that the chats are counted as conversions.

When to use it

When you want searchers to start a WhatsApp chat with you straight from your Google Search ads and you need those chats tracked as conversions.

What you get

A reviewed plan with campaign picks, pre-filled WhatsApp messages per service, a measurement check that avoids double counting, and message assets added after your approval.

Does it change anything in my account?

Only with your approval. The assistant first shows a preview of every change and waits for your go-ahead.

[account name][WhatsApp number][service]
In my Google Ads account [account name], I want prospects to be able to message us on WhatsApp straight from the search result. The business's WhatsApp number is [WhatsApp number]. 1. Check the current state. Use list_extension_assets to show which campaigns already have a message asset. If any do, use extension_asset_performance to show how many clicks it got in the last 30 days and google_ads_query to see whether those clicks brought conversions. 2. Which campaigns should get it? Propose the Search campaigns that collect leads and have a high share of mobile traffic. Assess the brand campaign separately from service campaigns. 3. Write the copy. For each campaign, propose a short welcome message and a call to action that fit the service, in the language of the ads. Example: "Hello, I would like information about [service]." No prices and no claims we cannot keep. 4. Check measurement. Use list_conversion_goals to check whether chats started from the message asset count as conversions. If the WhatsApp button on the site is also measured separately, point out that the same person may be counted twice and recommend which one should be primary. 5. Preview and approval. Show the assets to be added per campaign and wait for my approval. After approval, add them with manage_extension_assets and read them back to confirm. Also list the metrics to check 14 days after the asset goes live: message clicks, chats started and cost per chat.
