Microsoft Ads imported campaign check before enabling

Checks a campaign imported from Google Ads into Microsoft Advertising before it goes live. It covers UET and conversion goals, bid strategy, locations, negatives, ad groups, keywords and extensions. Every fix comes as a preview for your approval.

When to use it

When you imported a Google Ads campaign into Microsoft Advertising and fear the import broke tracking, negatives, locations or bids.

What you get

A Check | Status | Detail table of what the import missed, plus previews of the fixes (missing negatives, bid strategy, locations, paused ad groups) for your approval.

Does it change anything in my account?

Only with your approval. The assistant first shows a preview of every change and waits for your go-ahead.

[Google campaign name][Microsoft campaign name][client account]
We imported the Google Ads campaign [Google campaign name] into Microsoft Advertising as [Microsoft campaign name] for [client account]. Before enabling it, check what the import broke or missed. Do not change anything without my approval. 1. Tracking: a UET tag exists and its reported status is active. At least one conversion goal uses that tag and its status shows it is recording. Take the final URL of one ad and read that live page. If the UET tag id or bat.bing.com appears in the HTML, say so. If it does not, say the tag may load through Tag Manager and cannot be confirmed from the page source. As a cross-check, report conversions on the account's other Microsoft campaigns over the last 30 days. If there are none, say tracking is unproven. 2. Bidding: read the campaign's bid strategy from the account snapshot. If it is Target CPA, Max Conversions or another conversion-based strategy and no goal is recording, flag it. In that case recommend Enhanced CPC until conversions come in. 3. Locations: read the Google campaign's location targets and exclusions. Microsoft location targets cannot be read here, so ask me to paste them from the Microsoft campaign settings. Then compare the two and flag extra or missing locations. For missing targets, look up their Microsoft location ids so they can be added after a preview. Extra targets and any missing exclusions I will fix in the Microsoft interface. 4. Negatives: collect the Google campaign's ad group and campaign negatives. List the shared negative lists attached to the campaign and read each one in full, raising the limit if a list is cut short. Compare them with the negatives on the Microsoft campaign and on each Microsoft ad group, matching ad groups by name. List every negative missing on Microsoft and the level it belongs to. Microsoft negatives accept only Exact and Phrase, so map Google broad negatives to Phrase and say so. 5. Ad groups, ads and keywords: every ad group is active and has at least one active RSA. Flag paused ad groups. Flag keywords that came over paused or with a zero bid. If the ad group data shows an end date or a network setting, flag any end date that would stop the campaign early. 6. Extensions: at least 4 sitelinks and 2 callouts are attached to this campaign, with no duplicates. Output a table with the columns Check | Status | Detail. Then show the confirm=false previews one at a time and wait for my approval on each: - the missing negatives, as one batch for the campaign plus one batch per ad group - any bid strategy switch - any missing locations - any paused ad group I should switch on Change the campaign status to Active only after I confirm, and show that preview too.
