Pre-launch readiness check for a new client's Meta account

Before the first campaign, checks Page and Instagram access, pixel activity, the GA4 property, custom conversions against GA4 key events, Facebook and Instagram traffic tagging, thank-you pages, audiences and instant forms. Then proposes the missing custom conversions, which are created only after your approval.

When to use it

When you have just taken on a new client and want to check that their Meta account, pixel, GA4 and tracking are in order before building any campaign.

What you get

A readiness checklist table (item, status, evidence, fix) and a proposed list of missing custom conversions, created only after you approve them.

Does it change anything in my account?

Only with your approval. The assistant first shows a preview of every change and waits for your go-ahead.

Meta Ads, GA4

[client ad account][client website][conversion values, if any]
We just onboarded a new client. Before we build any campaign in Meta ad account [client ad account], run a readiness check. The client's website is [client website]. Check each item and mark it pass, fail or needs manual check. Only use what the tools return. When a field you need is not returned, mark the item needs manual check and say what is missing. - Access: The ad account is listed and reachable. List the Pages for this ad account and confirm which Facebook Page is actually assigned to it, not just visible to me. Then list the Instagram accounts usable from this ad account. If no Page is assigned, mark it fail. - Pixel: At least one pixel exists and its last-fired time is within the last 24 hours. The tools only show the last-fired timestamp, not individual events. So even if this passes, recommend an event-level check in Events Manager (for example, a test purchase or a test lead). - GA4 property: List the GA4 properties and their web data streams. Find the one whose stream URL matches [client website]. If no stream matches the client's domain, flag it and skip the GA4 items below, because they would describe the wrong site. - Custom conversions vs GA4: List the Meta custom conversions. Flag any that have never fired, since that usually means the rule does not match what the pixel sends. Check that URL rules point to pages on [client website]. List the GA4 key events, then pull a 28-day GA4 report by event to see how often each key event actually occurred. List every GA4 key event with real volume that has no Meta custom conversion equivalent. - Facebook and Instagram traffic in GA4: Pull a 28-day source/medium report. Find the rows whose source looks like Facebook or Instagram (facebook, fb, ig, instagram, l.facebook.com, m.facebook.com, lm.facebook.com and similar), and report their sessions and key events. If there are none, or they only show up as referral traffic, UTM tagging is probably missing. This is a judgement based on source names, so list the rows you matched. - Thank-you pages: From 28-day GA4 landing page and page reports, list the pages that look like confirmation pages (thank you, order received, success, tesekkurler) with their sessions. These are the candidates for URL-based custom conversions. - Audiences: List the custom audiences. Judge from the fields actually returned (name, type, size, and any date fields) which ones look too small, outdated or duplicated. If size or dates are not returned, mark the item needs manual check rather than guessing. List the saved audiences we can reuse, with their approximate size. - Instant forms: List the instant forms on the assigned Page with their status and the questions each one asks. If no Page is assigned, mark this needs manual check. Deliver the checklist as a table with these columns: item, status, evidence, fix. Then, for each missing custom conversion, propose a definition: name, pixel, URL contains rule and/or standard event, category, and a default value if the client gave one ([conversion values, if any]). Show me a preview of every custom conversion and create nothing until I approve. The default value cannot be set at creation, so after the conversions are created, show me a second preview that adds the default values and wait for my approval again before you apply it.
