TikTok creative fatigue check with pause shortlist
Compares the last 7 days with the 21 days before at ad level, flags fatigued creatives, builds a safe pause shortlist and finds ad groups that need new creatives.
When to use it
When your TikTok ads are getting expensive or losing returns and you suspect the creatives are worn out.
What you get
A table of fatigued ads, a safe pause shortlist previewed for your approval, and a list of ad groups that need new creatives.
Does it change anything in my account?
Only with your approval. The assistant first shows a preview of every change and waits for your go-ahead.
Check creative fatigue in TikTok ad account [account name]. Compare the last 7 days with the 21 days before (28 days in total).
Pull the data with tiktok_report_query, report_type BASIC, data_level AUCTION_AD, dimensions ['ad_id']. Run it once for each window using start_date and end_date, so frequency is calculated over the whole window and not summed by day. Request: spend, impressions, clicks, ctr, frequency, video_play_actions, video_watched_2s, video_watched_6s, and the purchase count and purchase value metrics. Calculate the 2-second and 6-second view rates as views divided by impressions.
For each active ad with at least [minimum spend] spend in the period, show: ad group, ad name, days live, spend, CTR (both windows), 2-second and 6-second view rates, cost per purchase (both windows), ROAS (both windows) and frequency where available. Take days live from the ad's creation date in list_tiktok_ads. If that date is not returned, use the first day with spend from a daily query (dimensions ['ad_id','stat_time_day']). Image ads have no view rates. Mark them "n/a".
Flag an ad as fatigued if at least two of these are true:
- CTR dropped more than 30%
- cost per purchase rose more than 25%
- ROAS dropped more than 25%
- frequency is above 3 in the last 7 days
If frequency is not returned for an ad, judge it on the other three signals, still requiring two, and note "frequency unavailable".
Deliverables:
1. A table of fatigued ads, worst ROAS first.
2. A pause shortlist: fatigued ads whose ROAS in the last 7 days is below [target ROAS], but never the last healthy ad in an ad group.
3. A list of ad groups left with fewer than 3 healthy ads, which need new creatives.
Show the pause list as a preview with update_tiktok_ad_status (operation DISABLE, confirm=false). Wait for my approval before pausing anything.
