LinkedIn lead quality problem: pivot targeting, adjust bid or pause
A data-backed decision on a weak LinkedIn campaign, comparing lead fit, audience size and bid range before proposing any change.
When to use it
When a LinkedIn campaign has run for a month and the leads are poor quality, and you need to decide whether to change targeting, change the bid or stop it.
What you get
A clear recommendation (pivot targeting, adjust bid or pause) backed by lead fit, cost per qualified lead and audience forecast numbers, with any change previewed for approval.
Does it change anything in my account?
Only with your approval. The assistant first shows a preview of every change and waits for your go-ahead.

[LinkedIn campaign][ideal job titles][max cost per qualified lead]
[LinkedIn campaign] has been running for at least 30 days, and the client says the leads are poor. Help me decide whether to pivot the targeting, change the bid, or pause.
Steps:
1. Pull the last 30 days: spend, impressions, CTR, leads and cost per lead. Add a breakdown by job function and seniority if it is available.
2. Download the leads and assess fit: what share matches [ideal job titles] and the target company size. Then calculate cost per qualified lead.
3. Run an audience forecast for the current targeting, and get the suggested bid range for that audience.
Decision rule:
- Pivot targeting if fewer than 40% of leads fit the ICP. Propose a narrower audience, forecast its size (it must stay above 50,000 members) and show its bid recommendation.
- Adjust the bid if leads fit but delivery is limited and our bid sits below the suggested range.
- Pause if fit is under 40% and either the narrower audience would drop below 20,000 members or cost per qualified lead exceeds [max cost per qualified lead].
Give me the recommendation with the supporting numbers. Show any targeting, bid or status change as a preview and wait for my approval.
